We had some friends that we sold the land across from us to and they built this really nice brick home. We have been watching anxiously as each step has been completed. Lee did all the contracting and he, Liz and their extended families have done a lot of the work also. It has turned out beautifully. They still aren't quit finished but we expect they will be in it by this summer. Anyhow Billy had mentioned to Lee that we had wanted to brick our home for years but we also had another friend who had done this and it turned out really awful so besides just not having the money, we were kind of worried about doing it. So Lee says, you know have some fellows that I contracted that I think you would be really happy with. So we hired them. I didn't take any pictures before they started bricking the house because I wasn't thinking but when they were finished we were amazed and very happy to say the least. Arturio ( the bricker) told Billy we had enough brick that if we would like him to, he could do pillars on the front porch for us. We were thrilled. We hadn't even thought about doing that. When he started the pillars, he told us that we really had enough brick that he could do arches if we liked. Okay, that sounds good too. So he did the pillars and arches. It turned out so beautiful I just had to share. If anybody is looking for a man to do bricking on their home, he is the one to call. He is really nice, efficient and his work is outstanding. I am just thrilled. My daughter said to me the other day, so Dad is so determined to stay in ya'll's original home that he just builds a new around you. And I said yeah, we're both like that. We have had some of the happiest moments in our life right here in this old house that we could afford when we married and we don't want to leave those memories, so it's nice to be able to redo things!

  2. It looks great! I was so impressed at how amazing it looked when I was there, it doesn't even look like home anymore, it's a whole new house. Good thing we have all those home videos so we can prove to the disbelievers that it really did start out as a double-wide trailer house! LOL
