When Riley and Bobby were very little we finally had a tree that was big enough to build a little treehouse in so we began. I'm not sure how many hands were involved in building this treehouse but it was an on going project that only required a hammer, some nails and any scrap piece of lumber we could find. The kids always loved doing it. The would spend hours hauling boards and hammering in the treehouse. I went up on occasion to help them and loved it too. Now we weren't experts at this building and I could see that lately the little treehouse was not looking too sturdy. It troubled me a bit so this summer I decided we needed to tear it down and start again. Me and the boys did just that at the beginning of summer. My lindsey was not very happy about us doing this. She told me there were a lot of memories in that treehouse and she didn't like it that we tore it down. So I decided that when she came to visit we would build it back and that was good because Jack was here and he got to help. Jack and Caleb and Lindsey and I all built the treehouse back to a much better state, one that I can live with and not worry about. And the tree has grown a lot so we were able to expand. We now have a three story treehouse with really nice floors. Needless to say I am sore today from building but it was fun and there are still lots of things that can be done with the treehouse for the other kids. Katie and Evan helped haul off the bad wood and Sydney slept through the whole thing but played in it later.
